Fair Value Gaps · Screener + Tagger

Track every fair-value gap — objectively, no repaint.

Fair-value gaps, detected the moment the third candle closes and tracked until price fills them. The screener watches your list for who's sitting in a live gap; the tagger draws the gaps on your chart and marks the newest, cleanest ones.

Objective detection

A gap only prints once the third candle closes — no repainting, no redrawing after the fact. What you see is what was there.

Tracked until filled

Each gap extends until price fills it, then it's removed (or greyed, your choice). The board always reflects what's actually live.

The screener finds who's in a gap

Your whole list checked at once — the FVG, its zone, and whether price is currently IN GAP or the gap is still fresh.

The tagger keeps it clean

On your chart, boxes for the open gaps plus a tag on the newest ones — capped so lower timeframes don't turn into a wall of boxes.

SettingWhat it does
Scan timeframeThe timeframe the screener detects gaps on — 5m, 15m, whatever you trade.
Min gap size (× ATR)Filter out tiny gaps. 0 shows every gap; raise it to keep only meaningful ones.
Only detect during sessionIgnore premarket/overnight gaps, or include them.
A gap counts as filled byClose through the gap, or just a wick into it — you decide what 'filled' means.
Keep filled gaps (greyed)Leave filled gaps on the chart in grey, or remove them entirely.
Max open gaps / max tagsCap how many boxes and labels show at once, so the chart stays readable.
The symbolsSet to futures, stocks, or crypto — the defaults are the major futures.

Get the fill on your phone

Arm the alert once and TradingView pushes you a notification the moment price on any name trades into a live gap — so you know a symbol has reached its fair-value zone without watching every chart for it.

What triggers it

Price entering an open bullish or bearish fair-value gap on your scan timeframe — the "IN GAP" state on the board. The gap has to be live (not already filled) for it to fire.

One alert, your whole list

A single alert on the screener covers every symbol you've loaded — the default futures, or your own stocks and crypto.

Setting it up (about a minute):

1Add the screener to a chart and set your scan timeframe in its settings.
2Click the alarm-clock Alert icon at the top of TradingView.
3Set the condition to the FVG screener and "Any alert() function call."
4Turn on Push, Popup, or Email under Notifications.
5Create. The message names the ticker and whether it entered a bullish or bearish gap.

Push notifications require the free TradingView mobile app, signed in to the same account.

Arming an alert requires real-time data for the symbols loaded. NASDAQ symbols work on any TradingView plan; NYSE and some other exchanges may need TradingView's real-time data add-on for that exchange. The board still displays every symbol live regardless.

Reading the board

IN GAP ✦
Price is currently inside the gap zone. Note: this means price is in the zone — the tagger only calls a gap 'filled' when price closes through the far edge, so the two can differ by design.
fresh
A newly formed gap that price hasn't returned to yet.
Zone
The price range of the gap — where price would have to trade to fill it.
bull / bear
A gap left by an up-move (bullish, support below) or a down-move (bearish, resistance above).
Age
How many bars since the gap formed.
